The Master Key Experience Week 13

It’s Thursday already — the day I’ve chosen to fulfill the weekly commitment of writing a blog about the Master Key Experience.

I got nothin’.

That doesn’t mean there is nothing to write about — there is plenty! It’s more that no line of thought has emerged that beckons me to follow it. Here I sit, fingers poised…

Waiting. Maybe a fresh cup of coffee will help.

The idea of persistence seems to be percolating. It makes sense I guess, I’ve been reading Scroll Three of The Greatest Salesman for nearly a month now.

I persist. I win.’

I tend to apply the idea in terms of the ultimate reward — that of winning in my business venture. Since my Personal Pivotal Needs are Liberty and Legacy, I’ll need to win pretty big — bigger than any time of my life. Og warns, ‘It’s not given to me to know how many steps are necessary in order to reach my goal.’ Indeed I have no clue. My goals are lofty enough that logic tells me many steps lie between here and there. One step at a time…

I’m thinking though about the various facets to the jewel of persistence and how in reality, persistence must be applied to each facet.

Such as, ‘I never consider defeat and remove from my vocabulary such words and phrases as…’ A list of negative words and phrases ensues.

If there is one thing that comes home again and again, it’s that thought — my thought — tends toward being negative. Negativity is sneaky and insidious. I must use persistence to strengthen the Guardian At The Gate by using new tools at my disposal.

Case in point…

For the last 18 months or so, my son has been restoring a 1976 Porsche 911S. I never imagined he would do such a thing, but then, knowing my son as I do, it makes perfect sense.

I’ve had some involvement along the way — I would have loved more, but it’s a bit of a jaunt from my house to his and I wasn’t always aware of when he’d be working on the car or need my help. And, because of the distance, the more trips up there I make, the more conscious I am of my gas budget.

Last week the project took a big step forward as the engine and transmission were installed. I was committed to being present when it was fired up for the first time. Things never go as planned.

On about the third day of running back and forth, plus thinking of the additional driving I’d do over the holiday, I had a gnawing awareness of how much gas I was burning. The Guardian gave me a heads up and a suggestion!

I am in the dynamic flow of giving and receiving.

With the appearance of every yellow square — the shape and color I associated with giving and receiving — I would recite those words. Out loud, with enthusiasm. Furthermore, it occurs to me that I was also using the Seven Laws of the Mind — The Laws of Substitution, Practice, Subconscious and Growth, to name a few.

Maybe all of this really is working it’s way through my thick skull.

  1. A priceless writing! I love your descriptive about persistence for each facet! Thank you for your authenticity that helps me know I am not solitary in my persistence that sometimes feels long-suffering!

    1. Thank you Phillip — ‘got nothin’ was more a reference to not having any idea what I would write about. It showed up right on time and apparently was of value to some people! Grateful for that and so much more!

  2. Randy this is awesome! 1976 Porsche 911S?! Man its one of my dreams to restore a classic 911 like that and make it into a track/weekend warrior with my Father. Gave me chills just reading about you being able to do that with your Son! Congrats on being one with the material and being present with your Son. Happy New Year!
